【摘要】:Thisnon-destructivetestmethodcontainsproceduresandequipmentrequirementstoquantitativelydeterminethesurfacepenetrationofwateratasinglelocationonamasonrywall.Itisnotdesignedtodeterminetheoverallwaterpenetrationandleakageofamasonrysystem.Excessivewaterpenetrationofmasonrymaydegrademasonrywallperformancewithrespecttothermalconductivity,durability,efflorescence,staining,corrosionofembeddedmetalitems,andwaterleakage.Thistestmaybeusedtoevaluatemasonrywallsin-situorforfieldmock-uptesting.Commonapplicationsofthismethodhavebeencomparisonofwaterpenetrationratesofwallsbeforeandafterrepairs,andtestingtheefficacyofcoatings.Alternativeproceduresarealsoprovidedtosimulatetheeffectoflocalclimatologyonwaterpenetrationofmasonrywallsurfaces.Theoutersurfaceofallmasonrywallswillexperiencewaterpenetrationwhensubjectedtowind-drivenrain.Theresistancetowaterpenetrationisdependentonmaterials,workmanship,design,andmaintenance.Somewalltypesaccommodatelargevolumesofwaterpenetration,withoutdeleteriouseffects,throughthepresenceofproperlydesignedandinstalleddrainagesystemsincludingflashingandweepholes.Useofthisstandardwithoutconsiderationoftheoverallwallsystemmayleadtoincorrectconclusionsregardingperformance.Itistheintentofthisstandardthatasheetofwaterbedevelopedandmaintainedonthewallsurfaceduringtesting.Insomecases,duetothesurfacetextureofthemasonry,theapplicationofacoating,orotherfactors,asheetofwaterwillnotconsistentlyform.Inthosecases,resultsofthistestmethodwilllikelybeinaccurate.ThistestmethodissimilartobutdistinctfromthelaboratoryTestMethodE514.Thisfieldtestmethodisdesignedtotestin-situwalls.E514laboratorytestmethodisdesignedtotestlaboratorywallspecimens.Thistestmethoddetermineswaterpenetrationofthemasonryatitssurface.TestMethodE514measuresthewaterthathaspenetratedintoandthroughthemasonryspecimenandiscollected.DirectcomparisonofresultsfromthistestmethodandTestMethodE514areinappropriate.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthefielddeterminationofwaterpenetrationofamasonrywallsurfaceunderspecificwaterflowrateandairpressureconditions.Thistestisintendedforuseonanymasonrywallsurfacethatcanbeproperlyinstrumentedandtestedwithintherequirementsofthisstandard.1.2ThistestmethodisnotidenticaltoandtheresultsarenotdirectlycomparablewiththelaboratorystandardTestMethodE514.1.3Surfacepenetration,asdeterminedbythistestmethod,isdefinedastheamountofwaterpassingthroughthewallsurfaceexposedtotestingperunittimeperunitarea.Thispropertyisnotdirectlycomparabletooverallwaterpenetrationandleakage,whicharetypicallydefinedastheamountofwatertravellingcompletelythroughamasonrysystem.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,orequipment.Thisstandarddoesno......
